If you're looking for solid performance without delivering a heartbreaking blow to your bank balance, the Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX from Turtle Beach is an affordable point of entry into the world of top gaming headsets. What you do find, crucially, is sound so good it takes you aback. You won’t find these in the Recon 500’s box, then, since Turtle Beach’s latest in the long-running line costs less than $100/£100. And when you’re shopping for a gaming headset, first to walk the plank are extraneous features and luxurious construction materials. You make certain tradeoffs when you impose a budget on yourself.

If your console and TV are physically separated, or your TV is mounted on the wall, you may need a longer Optical cable than is supplied with the product. Alternatively, if your TV permits, you can connect the Optical cable from the Stealth 400’s USB to the Optical Out on the back of your TV and enjoy all the features of the headset. This firmware update will replace the Stealth 400 ’s independent chat volume control with a different feature set, Master Volume control (game icon) and Variable Mic Monitoring control (chat icon), which allows you to hear how loud your voice sounds inside the headset so you never have to shout at your teammates or other players (unless you really want to).ģ. We released a firmware update for the Stealth 400 that enhances your headset by enabling Variable Mic Monitoring control.

However, you will no longer have independent control of game audio and chat audio levels.Ģ. Using this method, you will still get both game audio and chat audio.
